Depart for Pearmund Cellars. Voted best winery in the state by Virginia Wine Lover Magazine, Pearmund’s tasting is nothing short of fantastic.
Return to Airlie and check into your guest room. Breathe in the fresh autumn afternoon air with a walk around grounds. Meander our formal gardens or explore our working four-acre organic garden, the Local Food Project. Hint: If you are feeling adventurous, consider challenging your partner to a race through the corn maze.
Arrive at Garden Bistro for dinner. Fall flavors abound from amuse bouche to aperitif. Hint: Keep on theme and try the featured seasonal cocktail, Apple Cider Sangria made with Virginia’s own Albemarle CiderWorks hard cider.
9:00 p.m. (Friday and Saturday Nights)
Mosy to the fire pit and sink into an Adirondack chair as you recount the days’ activities. The relaxing warmth of a crackling fire provides the perfect ending to the first day of your stay.
Walk to Airlie Dining Room for breakfast and be seated at a table overlooking the formal gardens. Buffet choices feature locally sourced proteins, fruits and vegetables.
Borrow bicycles from the front desk and glide around Airlie’s tree lined roadways, revealing the colors of fall. Quaint bridges overlooking several waterways paint a picturesque landscape to discover on two wheels.
Check-out time has arrived. If you’re not in a hurry to get home, consider booking one of our recreational activities such as skeet shooting or archery.
