Spring has officially sprung in Virginia. Dogwood, Redbud and Forsythia are in bloom, the sun stays up a bit longer each day, and we once again have the urge to venture outdoors for some much needed fresh air. At Airlie, we are pleased to offer a variety of upcoming events and activities, which will allow you to shake those winter doldrums and welcome spring with open arms.
Treat yourself to an overnight stay and take advantage of our amenities. Explore the outdoors by bicycle, try archery or skeet shooting, or borrow a fishing pole to catch-and-release in one of our waterways. Since Airlie is situated on 300 acres of rolling Virginia countryside, there is much to be seen on foot including an abundance of wildlife, flora, and fauna. If you prefer to stay closer to Airlie House, our formal garden and butterfly garden show spectacular spring colors throughout April and May. Our Celebrate Spring package includes overnight accommodations, a three-course dinner for two with two glasses of wine, and breakfast for two the following morning. Visit our website to view all available Airlie packages.
Spring Signature Dinner featuring Early Mountain Vineyards
The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with a wine, hors d’oeuvres and conversation with Airlie’s Chef Jeff Witte and Early Mountain Vineyards’ Winemaker, Ben Jordan. A four-course culinary journey follows at 7:00 p.m. with selections such as Whiffletree Farm Turkey and Chocolate and Strawberry Napoleon. An overnight package is also available, so you can linger longer and enjoy our bountiful Sunday brunch the next day.
Make plans spend the day outside with us celebrating planet earth! Originating at Airlie in 1969, Earth Day is now celebrated in 192 countries across the globe. We make it our business to champion sustainable initiatives year-round at the hotel and throughout grounds. This year, we will be unveiling our Virginia LoveWork, part of the state’s mission to prove that “love is at the heart of every Virginia vacation.” When complete, Airlie’s LoveWork will be created from 97% recycled materials! We enjoy inviting the community to Airlie to celebrate this special day each year. Stay tuned on our website and facebook page, where further details will be announced.
Mother’s Day Brunch
Celebrate Mom in style at Airlie with our grand brunch buffet. Stroll the formal gardens and take advantage of the photo op. Mom will enjoy the ambiance and the kids will enjoy our expansive outdoor spaces. Menu and details to be announced on our website soon.
