2017 Virginia Wedding Trends

Recently engaged or already knee-deep in planning your upcoming wedding? Here is a short list of wedding trends we've seen our couples embrace over the past year. The overall themes combine simplicity and class with a hint of rustic elegance.

Brides are requesting that their guests turn off all electronics during the "I Do’s" to keep the moment intimate and special with their loved ones, leaving the photographer to capture it all.

The flipside of our first trend, this one has to do with sharing galore. After the ceremony, it seems that all bets are off. From custom snapchat geofilters to wedding hashtags, couples want the world to know it is indeed their special day, and everyone is having a blast at the party.  Photo Credit: Left & Top Right: Stephanie Dee; Bottom Right: Alex Tenser

At Airlie, we know the importance of being green, and have seen decadent lush florals take center stage in wedding décor this year. With pantone announcing its 2017 color of the year as “Greenery,” it is definitely a trend we see continuing. Photo Credit: Left: Katelyn James; Right: Dominique Fierro
